I see something in the hall/Tiny, shiny, kinda small
I don't know what it might be/So I guess I'll get up close to see
Who would like to take a bet?/Is it icky, fuzzy, lumpy, or wet?
Left by a child/Or better yet
Something left there by a pet
At least I follow Mama's plans:
If you touch it you better go wash your hands.

We went to the park one day/To get outside, to run and play
When I was over by the swings/I saw a yucky looking thing
Could I poke it with a stick? (I think you could.)
Would it really make me sick? (I'm sure it would.)
If I didn't follow Mama's plans:
"When you come inside, go wash your hands."

They're not as clean as you might think
So I wash 'em in the bathroom sink
You'd think that Mama really hopes
One day I'll start to use the soap
But at least I follow Mama's plans
I take the time to wash my hands

(and dry them)
(on my pants)
